Dr. Melissa-Rosina Pasqua pointed out that while current AID systems still require some level of manual insulin administration, their ability to provide consistent glucose control, especially overnight, alleviates stress and improves sleep quality for pregnant women. As one patient noted, starting on an AID system allowed her to sleep better than she had in years. This advancement contributes not only to physical health but also mental well-being, vital for expectant mothers.

Although AID systems have made great strides, experts agree that further refinements are necessary. Dr. Lois Donovan emphasized the importance of reducing the need for precise carb counting, which remains a hurdle for many users. The prospects of more intuitive systems that work seamlessly while allowing users to enjoy their meals without worry are promising.
